A famous aviation educator once said, "The flight instructor's job is not just to teach the student how to fly, but also, within the parameters of what is practicable and safe, to give the student as much real world experience as possible." This is what we call "realistic" flight training; short field technique learned on short strips, instrument flying learned in the clouds, crosswind technique learned in strong, gusty crosswinds, mountain flying learned in the mountains.
Maine Scenic Airways, Inc. offers the highest quality "realistic" flight instruction from its FAA Certificated Flight Instructors. Training for Recreational, Private, Commercial, Instrument and Flight Instructor ratings is available.
For prospective pilots who wish to obtain a license at lower cost, we recommend training for a Recreational license with cross country privileges. This can be done in our Cessna 150 for about the same cost as a Sport Pilot license. However, with the higher grade Recreational license, pilots may fly sport airplanes as well as those standard airplanes approved for Recreational pilots. This includes our C-150 and C-172.
